Canada Post Strike Updates

November 26th, 2024
[10th day of no mail]

Due to the ongoing Canada Post strike, no orders will be shipped out during this time. As a small-town shop, I don’t have access to alternative shipping methods for most orders.

Here's what this means for you:

  • U.S. Orders: Unfortunately, I cannot ship any orders to the States until the strike is resolved.
  • Canadian Orders: For customers in urban areas, a UPS shipping option may be available. However, please note:
    • Shipping via UPS would be tracked but is 2-4x more expensive than the Canada Post rate.
    • If you'd like me to look into this option for your order, please send me a message.

💡 Important Note: I cannot guarantee that any orders will arrive before Christmas, even with alternative shipping. This is completely out of my control, and I truly appreciate your understanding.

Thank you for your patience and support during this challenging time! ❤️

Update Direct from Canada Post - It does not look good... Nov 25th

Negotiations continue with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) as the company marks day 11 of CUPW’s national strike.

Negotiations have been supported by a special mediator since Monday, November 18. Talks continued through this past weekend. We have continued to work to find agreement on changes to our delivery model to better serve customers with weekend delivery and more flexible staffing during the week.

The union has had other priorities and therefore the parties remain far apart. That means we have not yet reached agreements for the Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units.
